Distractions and Reality

For the last few weeks, I’ve found myself withdrawing from the general populace – I say “found myself” because I have not intentionally moved in this direction, I just noticed that I’ve not been comfortable in the company of many.  Things – events that are unfolding around us seem to be ignored by the masses, but only obvious to [in my world] a few.  There are so many distractions in which people seem to give their attention, the real stories are unfolding with little to no attention.  If you live in the U.S., there are those who staunchly support certain politicians blindly for any number of reasons:  then there are those who vehemently hate either the same politicians, or some others.  Some strongly support the politiciansYour distraction 01 who intend on running for the presidency next year merely because of gender while ignoring the persons faults and failures.  As one person put it, “With several million people in the U.S., these are the only candidates that can be found to run for this office?”

Our distractions are numerous, and the majority of people enjoy distractions.  Some of us prefer distractions from reality for any number of reasons or excuses – you choose which applies to you.  In our advertising’s – no matter what country in which you live, sex plays a huge role in advertising.  Other advertisers attempt to destroy the reputation of another company while attempting to build their reputation on the rubble of the one(s) they’ve destroyed.  We’re constantly sold the idea that newer is better, without ever finding out how “newer” will affect our lives.  We want the newest of something while trusting companies and governments to have our best interest in their hearts.

Others yet seek to fight governments and corporations, but pay no attention to how the fighting affects them.  Kudos to those that are changing their eating habits from McDonald’s, but my question is, have you traded McDonald’s for another fast-food restaurant, or have you genuinely sought a better diet?  In comparison, have you sought to do the same to such industry leaders as the Koch Brothers?  These brothers are the ones that seek and often times succeed in buying the politicians you elect, they also start organizations to sway the future of society – while you’re distracted with other things.  Can you, will you give up the products and conveniences they provide?  All of the corporations they own are listed on the internet.  How about Monsanto?

Military distractionIn the middle east, there are those that will support the “poor” Palestinians, but because it’s an emotional decision, these same people will side with a people who are at best, fictitious.  A people in which even their leaders have admitted are fictitious, a people who are from many areas of the region, then claim Israel to be their homeland.  History denies them, and their leaders, on occasion admit it’s only a propaganda war, and you support it willingly.  For those who support them and other’s such as them anywhere in the world – in this day of easy to find information, this is nothing more than willful ignorance.

Very recently, I was just bouncing around in search engines and ran across literally “junk” that I had forgotten about, probably because such “junk” doesn’t exist here in Mexico (thank Heaven’s).  One such internet magazine was showing TV program titles they call, “FAILS”.  Most of the programs were from shows such as the “Jerry Springer Show” and “Maury”.  Some of the worst television ever to hit the airways.  While the U.S. is on their constant debate and distraction about whether Gay and Lesbian marriages should be legal, the real problems are an ever-growing population of literally stupid people: not just those who watch this programming, but the guests that appear on those programs.  Whether you believe them to be genuine or not isn’t the issue, what appears in media is far too often taken seriously, not to mention how that influences others, “Look!  See!  I’m not the only one that lives/believes this way!”  For the record, my belief concerning Gay and Lesbian marriage is this:  As far as States are concerned, if the two people wishing to join in matrimony love each other [as any heterosexual couple does], the State should grant the license.  After all, the States role is only for legal reasons such as, if one of the partners should die before themedia-distraction other, their property can legally be turned over to their mate.  If a religious institution speaks out against such marriages, that’s their right to uphold their beliefs.  If the two people really want to live together, legally or not, they will, so a marriage license is only a legal formality.

As for the Baltimore riots; we seem to have forgotten an old idiom, “It takes a community to raise children.”  Everyone is placing blame on someone or something, or both, all the while denying that we’re a community, and now with the aid of technology, we’re a global community.  Don’t believe it?  How many people can you see throughout your day with their faces looking down into their smartphones and tablets?  When was the last time you or others you know had a lengthy face-to-face conversation?  Another distraction?  Even here in Mexico, children and adults are virtually glued to their smartphones and MP3 music players.  So, what was going on in the world while the world was, and is strongly or loosely glued to the happenings in Baltimore?  Well, let’s see:  the volcano in Chile erupted again, with just as much force as the first one, AND only hours apart, another strong volcano in Indonesia erupted.  Both of these were so powerful,Control a distraction scientists around the world are monitoring the ash output via satellite.  While that’s going on, a lake of lava in Hawaii has overflowed.  By the way, do you know that not only is the magnetic north pole moving towards Siberia, Russia, but the magnetic south pole is moving to meet it?  Do you know what the possible consequences are?  These are only a couple of things going on that WILL eventually affect us all.  Do you care?

While most people I know acknowledge that the world is changing for the worst, then agrees that a positive change needs to happen soon, each individual is far too distracted to be a leader, or even an individual for positive change.  I see many reasons for the laissez faire attitude, ranging from:

  • I need to support my family;
  • I need to support my life-style;
  • I don’t want to be homeless;
  • I have bills to pay…

No One Understands Your JourneyAll of these are justifiable reasons, but is there something that you can do while fulfilling your personal obligations?  Do your ends justify the means?  Only you can answer these and other questions now, and in the future – no matter what the future brings.

While there is a constant battle for your attention, your money, your allegiances, the real world continues to ebb and flow without the attention of the masses.  While you’re concentrating on your distractions, even the subtle ones that pit us against each other, the world continues in its downward spiral.

Whether you claim a religion, or not, everyone can see that we as a global society will not change – we will never, in our current way of life, accomplish a unity which will grant us the peace most of us want.  There are far too many variations of peace, and as I’ve seen it, built upon someones Utopian ideals which work for that individual, or those of like-minds, but for those of us who disagree… ?

So, why did I write this?  I hope that you will see that:Make A Difference

  1. To bring about peace, it has to start with you.  If all you see is a war, whether a war of minds, thoughts, beliefs, life and lifestyle – that is how you will react.  You will find something and someone to fight;
  2. If your distractions are self-indulgent, you’ll never find peace, not personally or globally;
  3. If you see a need for peace personally and globally, it has to start with you – even if it ends with you.  If you have a “connection” with Someone/Something bigger than you, then you already know there is a “Master Plan”, and our “Free Will” is what will take us individually to a level which we can only speculate upon.  No one has been “there”, so we can only imagine what the future holds.  I’ve read and heard many different versions of what to expect – all I can say for the ones I know of is, as long as free will is granted to everyone, you may be on the correct path to a better future.  After all, even if you come from a (loosely put) Judeo-Christian background, the G-d of the Bible didn’t create a religion, He only wants you, me… everyone to KNOW Him.  Religions have a bad name because of men and women who want others to adhere to their beliefs. Grant everyone the freedom to choose as you have, it’s a start.

Our world is changing.  How will you journey through it with the time you have?  Peacefully, lovingly, or forcefully, with fear?  How will you make a difference?

What’s distracting you?

The Near Death of Spirituality

For a great deal of my adulthood, I’ve wondered why there was a continuous war against Judaism.  Before you go running off thinking this is about Judaism only, please stick around, it’s not only about Jew’s and Judaism.

While I love to read, I especially love to read things that I can learn from, I haven’t read anything about what I’m going to address here.  This is a culmination of many of the things I’ve read about history, most of what you most likely already know, especially if you attended schools during the sixties and seventies.  I say this because it seems that many that attended schools after that era know little to nothing about history – or a very revised history.

Recently, I was preparing for one of my radio programs and this thought came to mind, “Why are people so willing to accept what is told them?”  Well, as life often does, during the radio program, the answer came indirectly through one of my guests.  It was like a huge flash in a pan of hot oil!  After the realization hit me, I felt relieved to finally understand, yet stupid for not adding 2 + 2 for all these years.  What I mean is, I know a lot about religious and secular history; I know a lot about the dark ages and the inquisitions, but I never added the one “ingredient” that made me understand it all a lot better.

I finally came to understand that as Rome fell from its greatness, the Christian Church, which was still new became the Catholic (Latin for Universal) Church.  As one De Paul University professor, a Catholic Priest, explained it in a Comparative Religion Class, “… the word Catholic is Latin for Universal.  This means that at the churches inception, it took the best from all of the major religions of that time…”  He then wrote on the board a long list of old and extinct religions such as Zoroastrianism (still alive), Mithra-ism, Hellenism, Judaism, Christianity, and many more.  In other words, the creators of the Catholic Church were seeking to bind all of the religions of the day into a ‘One World Church’.  If man can have a bit of each religion embodied in one religion, the hope was to makeWarForSpirit 2 the appeal to everyone that they could unite the world.  After centuries of slow growth, the dark ages came upon Europe, meaning that if you weren’t one of the “fold”, the reigning governments under the church could and did make life very difficult for anyone not “sanctioned” to do business as well as making life very difficult.

Okay, most of us know that part, but what I forgot was, the Catholic Church went throughout the world seeking out all those who lived differently than what the church condoned.  What we know is that the church either converted them and/or killed those they found.  What few know or remember is that the church kept the information they came across of any religions that had a strong spiritual basis.  By killing off the smaller groups/societies, they pretty much eliminated the information, leaving the Vatican Archives with most of that information.

Here is where my ‘lighting bolt’ (I’m trying not to say epiphany) of realization flashed in:  When there is one group seeking one-world control through their combining of all of the worlds religions – someone is seeking control.  Every ancient land they went to, they destroyed not only their culture, but specifically their religions… their connections to our source of life, who most of us call, G-d.  So why hate Judaism?  Judaism is NOT just a religion, it is a way of life.  Judaism is something that is lived ever part of everyday, and I do not mean just observances or doing something without knowing why.  While there are many things in Judaism that are not fully understood, there are more that are.  But without getting too deeply involved in that, the point I really wish to bring out is that there is a very strong knowledge and sense of spirituality within Judaism.  Not only has the Catholic Church tried to wipe out Judaism, other religions and governments around the world have tried.  Why?  If you can remove the spirituality from people, if you can remove not only a belief in our Creator, you can control the individual, a community, a country… the world.

Take a look around you – how many people are trying to win your heart, your soul with their beliefs?  From people knocking on your door, asking to speak with you about their beliefs, never asking if you’re seeking for anything, then becoming upset or angry at you for not “believing”: or the fundamentalist atheist who is just as intrusive as his/her religious counterpart, wanting to convince you to lose all belief in any Deity.  Then there are those that get us to focus on money, materialism and possessions.  Let’s not forget those that get us to focus on family and a whole host of other things that can, and oft-times does get us to focus on anything but our connection with our Creator.  Now we have the “Radical Muslim” who is threatening to, and is in some places actually killing those that don’t convert.

What is important to everyone is what most, if not all Jewish Rabbi’s*  will tell you, “You don’t have to be Jewish to know G-d.”  Why is this stated?  Throughout the ‘creation story’, there is NOT to be found any text stating that the Creator created a religion.  The controlling religions tell you that if you leave their fold, voluntarily or by being kicked-out, or excommunicated, you will go to hell.  There is more control in that than any direction to a loving Deity.

The world is actively fighting for control over each one of us – some don’t care, others don’t know, and will willfully go along with the plan of men.  Others will see this as a war for freedom in government and fight their governments, corporations and a financial system only, and ignore their core.  Those of us that see and know the fight is about our soul and what sets us free will fight for each other, because all else is as it should be.

authentic Rabbi's

The Choices We Have, Make and Must Live With

First of all, allow me to apologize for not posting more often.  Many times I have thoughts I’d love to write about, but for any one of many reasons, or excuses, they never appear here.

This morning, when I awoke, the following thoughts were on my mind; thoughts that actually started yesterday, developed into a couple of pictures being put together, then quoting myself.  I then posted that picture-quote in one of my other blogs.  I thought that would be the end of those thoughts, but gladly, they’re not.

Many of us have grown up reading and have been taught the various “stories” of creation and their meanings, and the “story” of how the fall of humanity happened and what that means to us.  Building from that thought, without posting quotations, I invite you to consider the following.

In simple form, Adam and Eve were created in, and to live in the quintessential paradise, a ‘Heaven on Earth’.  Our Creator told them in simple terms, “You can consume anything in the garden that you want (He even whet their appetites with all that grows there), but DON’T eat the fruit of just ONE particular tree.

Okay, now that we have the basic’s reestablished, let’s move on.

Let’s take a look at somethings that most of us overlook, but also are the main thoughts I’m presenting for your consideration:

  • Adam and Eve were created perfect and given paradise
  • They knew nothing else
  • What was life like before their choice?
  • Why did Eve choose as she did?
  • Why did Adam choose as he did?
  • The end results

… sounds long doesn’t it?  😀  It won’t be… continue on 😉

Imagine (“… if you will…”) a place full of color, no pollution and nothing to stick you, including possibly not even a mosquito.  Imagine seeing not only the physical splendor of your home, but beyond that… energy flowing, ebbing… colors we can barely imagine now, because our physical eyes, hearing and all other senses have limitations – that is, they only respond to certain stimuli – light, sound – vibrations/frequencies.  With the ability toEve-Choice experience the world in such a broad spectrum, is there any wonder that they noticed after eating that forbidden fruit, their senses have become dulled? With the ability to see energy flowing everywhere, including being the ‘clothing’ they knew, then the ability now gone, wouldn’t you notice that you are “naked”?  Does this sound far-fetched to you?  Why?  After all, the text does say that they, Adam and Eve were created in our Creator’s likeness, yes?

There they are, two perfect beings living in a perfect place.   They even had somethings to do – keep the place up, care for all that was created before them, and enjoy.  They had only one limitationdon’t eat the one thing that will bring your fall from perfection.

So, why did they make that fateful choice?  They knew nothing else.  Many people I know love to say, “The Devil made me do it!”  For sure, that’s the easiest way to ‘solve’ the question, blame someone else, but that doesn’t work.  They were created perfect, in a perfect place – they knew nothing of death, degeneration, and the world has never appeared any different to them… till after they ate the wrong thing.  So why did they ‘sin’ [miss the mark] ?

I’ll venture to say that it was curiosity.  Their personal curiosity that was such a strong “feeling” that the desire became their “god” [of the moment].  That ONE thing that took them away from their simple duty, obligation to self;  that which kept them close to The Creator.  Their decision, no matter whether it was a serpent that tempted Eve, or Adam felt he couldn’t live without Eve – for whatever reason he chose to follow her, he did.  Their personal desires purposely or not, challenged the one law/rule/limitation given them, and that was THEIR choice that brought their fall.

We have choices to make several times per day.  YOUR choices take you and those around you down a path of no return – unlike a computer which you can erase a program, or delete a letter, number, sentence, paragraph, and so on.

If you want a better life, consider your choices… remember your choices and your simple rules and laws in life:

  1. You already know what is right and wrong, even if someone taught you differently.  Life and Love are the most precious things, or “commodities” (if you like to think in this manner) given us.  Neither are to be used as instruments of control over others;
  2. We don’t have time-machines, so we can’t undo what has been [or will be] done.  Choose well;

If you want a better life, make it start with your thoughts, then make your actions follow the best of your thoughts and decisions lest you fall from your current…

NOTE:

The past is gone – unchangeable, so don’t become depressed:

The future hasn’t arrived, so don’t be anxious.

Live the present moment.  Be happy, love life and all others, starting with our Creator to the smallest creature.  Think of it this way:  All life has one source and like you, all has an individual purpose.

As always,

All the best!

Creationist vs. Science – WHY?

Here is a debate/fight that I fail to understand…

… if for no other reason, if you don’t agree, how about trying to UNDERSTAND what you don’t agree about – even if you still don’t agree, you’ll understand:

Or is it that you feel the need to make everyone believe as you do?  You do know that is called conformity, right?  Also, you do realize that no one will ever get the whole world to agree on more than just the basics – there is air, water… etc., right?

Or is it that you’re (creationists) stubborn in your beliefs that you think our Creator will go to you and tell you if your understanding is incorrect?  If you have a direct link to our Creator, then it’s time to prove it… not prove that it’s written, just that you are correct.  If you can’t, accept differences, that’s what this life is about.

My further comments are in this video:

What We Created

I know, it’s been a long time since I’ve written anything, but it’s not for a lack of things to write about.  I’ve found myself in a similar situation to that of many in the world today – concerned about the world we live on and in. Some of my “down-time” was spent in getting to know my thoughts, and why I had them, then I spent a lot of time remembering and putting back into action something that is so crucial to my life, and everyone’s, “How do I want to live?”

Through little fault of our own, our lives become influenced through the association with others, through our media sources, our sources of entertainment, etc., which seems “hell-bent” on telling us how awful life is, and all the bad things that exist in the world.  This gives wind to the conspiracy theorist and their beliefs in the doom and gloom of the world (I even got swallowed up in that to a degree) all because I/we want someone to “Press the Reset Button.”  All of us know that life sucks everywhere on this planet.  I for one would absolutely love to live somewhere where the air is clean, clean water can be consumed from it’s sources, and foods aren’t contaminated, and those I live near are very intelligent, that is,  we can learn from each other and care for our “space” in the world without concerns of life, health and liberty.  Another thing I can definitely live without – MONEY!  However, there is no such place in our current world.  Even if you can find a society that fits your idea of perfection, climate change is wreaking havoc everywhere.

Before I get to my point, please follow me in a little history – from my point of view:

According to Biblical history, our Source of life created a perfect world – then the Source gave each of us “free will”.  Well, some of you may be saying already that this was a mistake; I’d disagree.  Unless you’re out to create robots, you’d want to create something that has a will of its own, while maintaining some control since you’d already know the capabilities of your creation.   Why not?  Mankind has been working at creating Artificial Intelligence for decades now – our own “god complex”.  This same Source gave us very simple “rules” to live by and if followed, life would still be perfect.  Incidentally, with all the instructions given then, there was never any instructions, nor any mention of, “I’ve created all that is AND I created this religion for you to follow, and if you don’t, surely you will die.”  I can’t speak for anyone else, but my father never demanded that I worship him, but he was always close to me as a father, and as a friend, and he was there to listen to me, and help me.  I see our Source as being very similar – not demanding and aloof, leaving his intent for me in the hands of others.

Okay, moving on:  One very simple “don’t” was given us which like children, we had to go find out, “Is He serious?”, then we found out the hard way, “Yep, He was, and is.”  Well, if you were told not to touch a hot stove, but you do, you’ll bear that burn, physically and/or in memory for the rest of your life (okay, even with plastic surgery, you’ll know why it was done, and where), so consider our lives to be the burn mark all of us have to bear.

Part two of our grandest mistakes was violence (Cain and Able), then part three was MAS violence:

Genesis 6:12-14

King James Version (KJV)

12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.

13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

… sounds a bit like our current time, doesn’t it?PrisonPlanet-TforG

We’ve created our own prison planet – in more ways than one.

Where all of this becomes confusing is where people have their different versions of what may happen in the future.  There is one thing I know, if our Source doesn’t press the “Reset button”, we will end our own lives through our own violence toward each other, no matter if it’s from greed, avarice, etc.  Incidentally, if you really want to know how “prophecies” were fulfilled, most – but not all – were the product of natural earth phenomenon, instead of some great hand in the sky reaching in to create havoc.

What is the real reason for losing “Paradise”?  Was it disobedience?

What goes before disobedience?  What goes before obedience?

What goes before all action?

Thought!

What do you think about during your day – your night?

Do you think about all the ill’s of the world?  How poor you are?  Do you hate others?  If yes, why?  Is hatred making the world a better place? Do you think about all the things you hope won’t happen?  Are you one that lives in fear, and that’s what you think about most of the time?  If you’re answering “Yes!” to these questions… do you see a pattern?

What you think about is what you’re going to get.  If you’re thinking a lot about the past, that’s where you’re living and you’re not living in the now.

If you’re thinking a lot about the future and suffering anxiety because of the unknown, again, you’re not living in the present – we only have this moment.

People, learn your lessons from the past, then let the past be the past.  There have been many people I grew up with that continually wanted to take me back to the past – I ended up leaving them in the past so I can live now and plan and work for my future.  As for our future; say what you want, then let it go.  In my experiences, if you dwell on the future too much, you sink into anxiety.

To close this thought, what I hope you’ll understand from this entry is to see your problems as solvable issues which start with thoughts of, “How can I make this better?”, then finding the solution(s) and acting on them.  Throughout the day and night, and especially in the mornings as you get out of bed; in the evenings before you go to bed, take time to relax your mind, your thoughts and think of what you have, in gratitude, and give thanks for what you have, and what is yet to come.  Listen to that still/calm voice that is within you and follow its lead – that still/calm voice doesn’t lie… if you’re thinking too much and not listening to that still/calm voice, therein are the lies, you’re hearing your own thoughts. Making the mind quiet, letting yourself be free, this is called meditation.  Your body needs rest, so does your mind, your soul… give it some time… quality time, you’ll even sleep better because of this.

If you continually think of all that is wrong, you’ll create more “Wrong” and I think we’ve had enough of that.

So, continuing with what we have been given….

… it’s YOUR choice.

What the Future Can Bring

Last night, I viewed the movie, “Men in Black 3” for the second time.  I did this because I wanted to remember the point most people (I’m guessing here) have or will miss.  It ties in with all the disappointment, hatred and distress many American‘s have because their favorite candidate did not win the presidential election.  The really sad part in all of this is that the religious among us seem to be the most hypocritical.  These are the ones I’ve seen having the largest “hissy-fits”, claiming everything from, “G-d has failed us…”, to blaming each other for not voting for their candidate of choice… and more.

Since my youth, I’ve always wondered about choices I’ve made – what would things be like if…  and what will things be like if…  In the movie, there is a character, an alien that has the ability to see the future, or shall we say, future possibilities.  For those of us that know at least something of metaphysics, or those that really have some grip, or understanding of religious beliefs, we understand that the future is NOT written in stone, only the past is.

When we give up on future possibilities, we’ve consigned ourselves to (usually) a very bleak future.  When we don’t get what we want, the worst thing we can do is to become a spoiled little child who thinks that the world is going to end because he/she didn’t get the toy it wanted.  What will the future be?  Do you really think you know more than our Creator?  Or has your creator whispered in your ear to tell you how bleak the future will be?

In most of the 2012 prophecies that I’ve read, viewed and listened too, there is a common theme present in all, or at least most of them:  we have the chance to turn things around, but WE have to do this together!

It’s time for all of us to grow up, to stop throwing fits when we don’t get what we want.  I’d have thought that we as a people, as adults would have learned this simple lesson by now, but it seems that I’ve thought wrong.  But… it seems that I’ve gotten a lot of things wrong:

  • Since the Civil Rights Era, I thought 45 to 50 years later, the races and cultures in the U.S. were well past the discrimination that is so prevalent now.  Maybe the “47%” and a few million more are, but not as much as I’d have thought or hoped for;
  • I thought that the religious intolerance so prevalent in the years – millennia before the 1960’s was almost gone… but I’m wrong again;
  • In an age where industrialism and great wealth has been acquired, I thought starvation and poverty was a thing of the past, or would be – wrong again;
  • I thought that corporate leaders would have learned good lessons from the past and have learned to share the wealth, which in turn means that those with money will spend it… wrong again;
  • Although this list can go on longer, let’s stop here – I thought that at this time in our history, the majority of people would have become much more intelligent and wise with all the information available, instead, the majority still prefers to follow “hearsay”, rumors, conspiracy theories… anything other than checking for facts and what really was or is.

So I ask, are we really doomed to a worldwide failure, or do we have the ability to change our direction?  We cannot return to what once was, but we can and should learn from our past and make a better future.

It’s your choice – it’s a choice for all of us.

What will it be?

God in a Box

During the past week since my last post, I’ve had many ideas that I thought were worthy of writing, but alas, none had “heart”.  Wednesday morning here in the America‘s, I was going to write about the hatred and all the negativity being expressed concerning the re-election of President Obama – that didn’t have heart either.  With regard to his re-election, I even had selected posts from “religious” people who were throwing literal “hissy-fits” over the election results.  One of my facebook friends posted this picture, then

“I don’t fit in your box”
– God

I re-posted it.  One friend caught on and a conversation followed.

Without divulging our conversation, but at least giving the highlights, this is pretty much what was covered:

… We are a people who love to hate for any number of reasons. Love is something we talk about, but practice in a very limited fashion.

Also, I’m one that not only believes in miracles, but lives them on a daily basis. I don’t claim to know the mind of G-d, but like Albert Einstein, it’s what I strive for. Even as Abraham Lincoln is credited for saying (paraphrased), “It’s not important that G-d is on my side, it’s far more important that I am on G-d’s side.” To live in HIS shadow means that I can be both part of a miracle, and the recipient of such; and if you wish, the observer of a/many miracle(s) that others miss.

Mankind has a L-O-N-G history of screwing things up when we forget who really is in charge, then take matters into our own hands. It’s my suggestion that instead of being so angry and upset over the outcome of an election, embrace what is and seek whatever your role is from our Creator and be a part of what He has either made or allowed and grow.

I only include this here because I made a decision yesterday – I’m not going to write about the ill’s of our world, they’re quite evident.  If this means that I lose even more of my readers, so be it.  I know that “bad news sells”, but this constant rehashing of negativity tends to drag me down with it, and in the end, I don’t like myself or the world in which we live.  I have chosen to focus on all that is great, and what can be through love and compassion.

When my now 31-year-old child was around six years old, we were on vacation and traveling cross-country by car.  Each time we stopped for gas and/or food, I’d talk with people like I’ve known them for a long time (something I learned from my father).  My daughter asked, “Dad, is there anyone that you don’t know?”  I smiled and answered her with a quote from Will Rogers, “Strangers are friends I haven’t met.”  The truth is, I like to make people smile – and think.  Whenever we have the chance, why not make a person smile?  It costs nothing and from time-to-time, the smile you just shared makes you smile too!

For some of my friends and/or readers, if you haven’t noticed by now, I do believe in G-d, and it’s based on my relationship with It.  I say “It”, “Creator”, “Source”, et al because I don’t attempt to put “Him”, “Her” in a box.  For me, it’s enough that I have conversations with our Creator, so gender is of no consequence for me.  If you’re offended by my “liberal” expressions, I guess this blog won’t be of any interest to you – but this does not mean that it will turn religious… I have no desire to make this into a religious blog, but from time-to-time, there will be quotes and thoughts that will come from a belief system.

Anyway, have a great and wonderful weekend and if I’m so inspired, there will be something here to read next week!

All the best!
